ST. LOUIS – A cluster of thunderstorms is moving into the northern reaches of the FOX 2 viewing area Saturday evening, and could provide strong rainfall in the St. Louis metro area overnight.These storms are producing very strong winds and one to two-inch sized hail as of 9:45 p.m. St. Louis radar: See a map of current weather here Between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m. Sunday, the St. Louis region has a 15% chance of getting damaging winds and a 5% chance of seeing large hail. Because it's nighttime, there is less heat energy to feed these storms.The storms will leave behind cooler temperatures, with the metro area in the low 70s by daybreak. However, the summer heat will kick in quickly, with Sunday's high expected to be well over 90°.

Grandmother killed in hit-and-run walking home from church in South L.A.

Loved ones are devastated after a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a grandmother walking home in South Los Angeles Friday night.California Highway Patrol officers responded to a crash on West 90th Street and Vermont Avenue around 9:30 p.m.The 77-year-old victim, Rosa Rodriguez, was walking home from an evening church service when she was fatally struck. Loved ones said the loving mother and grandmother attended church almost daily. Rodriguez had only walked a few feet outside the church before she was hit.The suspect driver did not stop to help and sped away from the scene, authorities said.Her family said Rodriguez moved to the U.S. from El Salvador following the Salvadoran Civil War in the 1970s. Rodriguez raised five children in America while remaining devoted and involved with church life. Her children said she was the center of their world. Suspect arrested after 2 women found dead in Diamond Bar senior living facility

A person was arrested after two women were found dead in a Diamond Bar senior healthcare facility on Saturday.The suspect, Jianchun Li, is employed as a live-in caretaker at the home, according to homicide investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.Authorities responded to the 23800 block of Sapphire Canyon Road around 8 a.m. and found two female adults deceased inside the "Happy Home Care For Elderly" facility.Although the women's cause of death is unknown, authorities said foul play is suspected.  Neighbors tell KTLA at least six people were living inside the facility at the time.Ivonne Trypucko is the manager of a swim club across the street. DENVER (AP) — Mike Trout, Brandon Drury and Matt Thaiss of the Angels hit home runs on consecutive pitches to open a 13-run third inning for Los Angeles against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.Trout hit a 451-foot homer to center field on a 1-0 pitch from Colorado starter Chase Anderson. Drury hit the next pitch for a 437-foot homer to left center, and Matt Thais followed with a 399-foot homer to right. The Angels went on to score 10 more runs on seven more hits, capped by a two-run homer by Mickey Moniak.The Angels’ 13 runs in the third inning tied a team record.
