(KRON) -- The Bay Area braces for yet another storm set to begin on Thursday. With the soil already saturated from this winter's parade of storms, downed trees, flooding and clogged storm drains pose a serious safety threat.A flood watch has been issued for the Bay Area starting Thursday night extending into Sunday morning. Officials are urging residents to take advantage of the calm before the storm on Wednesday to prepare their homes and property for potential flooding. A wind advisory is also in effect for the Bay Area on Thursday and Friday predicting winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour and gusts of up to 50 miles per hour. CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) -- As another atmospheric river prepares to douse the Bay Area this week, Contra Costa County officials are preparing for the flooding and damages the storm may bring. The rain is supposed to move into the area by Thursday and continue on through the rest of the week. County officials said they have been clearing storm drains, catch basins, roadside ditches, monitoring and maintaining flood control channels and stocking sandbag stations in preparation for the storm, and are encouraging residents to do the same. On Tuesday night, city supervisors voted against one supervisor’s proposal to add fentanyl crimes to the list of reasons to arrest undocumented immigrants.Supervisor Matt Dorsey was the only one in favor of allowing police to target undocumented immigrants they believe to be linked to dealing fentanyl. (KRON) – The Alameda County District Attorney announced today that she will be adding additional charges to a 2021 attempted murder case. The man is already in jail accused of trying to run over a person with his car. Now, the DA is saying her office has evidence that it was a hate crime.Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price says the victim is still severely injured but lucky to be alive after he was run over by a car six times. PITTSBURG, Calif. (KRON) -- A pedestrian was killed in a crash outside of Black Diamond High School on Tuesday, the Pittsburg Police Department confirmed.PPD officers were dispatched to Stoneman Avenue near Meadowbrook Circle and Loveridge Road for a crash. The crash scene was just outside the high school, and officers found the victim dead. SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KRON) – A school community is confronting a crisis nearly one week after a stabbing at a Santa Rosa high school. Jayden Pienta, 16, died after he was stabbed inside an art classroom at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa. His family, along with other parents and students, say the campus needs more security. In response, the school district held a public forum Tuesday night.
