WYNANTSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Flooding in Wynantskill is causing some roads to close. According to the North Greenbush Police Department, Brookside Ave between Whiteview Rd and Hidley Rd Ext is closed. Parts of Main Ave have some standing water on it but cars can get around at this time. The Police said the Wynants Kill has risen above the retaining walls and may continue to rise. Recalled applesauce pouches that left many children sick with lead poisoning may have been tainted on purpose, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Jim Jones, FDA deputy commissioner for Human Foods, said the investigation is still ongoing, but signs point to an intentional act to poison the puree. “We’re still in the midst of our investigation," Jones said in an interview with Politico. "But so far, all of the signals we’re getting lead to an intentional act on the part of someone in the supply chain and we’re trying to sort of figure that out."Three recalled applesauce products may have been deliberately tainted with lead, according to an FDA official. ANTIOCH — A suspect was arrested in the Saturday shooting death of a 29-year-old man in Brentwood, authorities said.The name of the man killed, an Antioch resident, was not publicly released as of Monday morning.The fatal shooting happened about 4;30 p.m. Saturday near some railroad tracks in the 700 block of West 1st Street.The 29-year-old man was found suffering at least one gunshot wound. PALO ALTO — A power outage affected thousands of customers in Palo Alto early Monday morning, although no cause was immediately confirmed, according to Palo Alto Utilities.The outage, which began at 5:30 a.m. according to the utility, affected about 4,559 customers at its peak. As of 8 a.m., about 3,500 were still without power.The utility said in a social media post that the cause was unknown but could be related to severe weather conditions. The Peninsula received aggressive early morning rainfall Monday morning, as did much of the Bay Area.Power went out this am for ~4500 customers. (KRON) – Two people accused of theft in Solano Square and ramming into patrol vehicles to evade officers have been arrested by the Benicia Police Department. Benicia officers responded to Solano Square on a report of a theft in progress at one of the businesses around noon on Dec. 17. According to police, the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle and rammed into our police unit. The suspects then struck two parked vehicles and a second police vehicle, police said. Benicia police arrest driver for DUI and passenger for possession of stolen gun Officers were able to detain the suspects. According to the police investigation, the vehicle was found to be stolen.
